still training. did 11 miles today in 2 hours 51 minutes and 20 seconds. that averages out to 15.57 minutes a mile, which is about 20 seconds slower than i did last weekend. i think the difference was that it was so hot today. last weekend, it was overcast the whole time.

i think that i'll be ok doing the half marathon. i think i'll be able to finish. if i extrapolate my time today, it should take me about 3 hours and 40 minutes to finish. right now though, all i want to do is go pass out on my bed. i can only hope this gets a little bit easier as time goes on.

wow, i'm horrible at keeping up this blog. last weekend, i did a two hour training walk. it was hard, but not too hard. mostly, it was hot. it was about 7 miles round trip, which means, once i build up my stamina, it's going to take a little under 4 hours to walk the 1/2 marathon, which means that if i continute to up my speed, i might still be able to do the full marathon in under 8 hours. (holy shit that's a long time). we shall see. i have another training this weekend and we are walking for 2 and a half hours. i've also been doing the stair master for 30 minutes a day, trying to strengthen up my legs. i think it's working.

and thank you so much to all of you who have donated so far! we are up to $2425, $75 bucks away from out goal! i can't believe it!!! now all i have to do is keep training and not get injured and we're good to go.

hi all. so far, thanks to your generous donations, we have raised $2025! only $475 to go to reach the goal of $2500!! i am so grateful for all of the support i have received from all of you. i'm going to be "ramping up" my training starting july, so i'll hopefully have more to report. there is a training walk this saturday, i'm hoping i can increase my speed and shorten the time it takes me to walk a mile. as it is right now, i won't be able to do the full marathon unless i can do that. there is a time limit for the course and i have to be able to finish it in 6 hours or less. right now, my walk time is about 7 hours and 45 minutes for 26.2 miles, so i'll have to shorten that by a lot or i'll be walking the half marathon instead.

i'm a little bit disappointed about that, but i have plenty of time to train, increase my speed and decrease my time. we shall see.

again, thank you all for your donations! keep 'em coming!!!

holy moley, i'm doing this again!

Well folks, it looks like i'm going to be doing this whole marathon thing again. Can you believe it? (I can't...but I digress).

The reson for doing it again is not because I feel a burning need to run a fourth marathon, cause that would be considered insane, right?

No, the reason for doing this again is to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's fight to find cures and treatments for people with blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. Chances are, you know someone or your life has been touched by someone with blood cancer. At this time, there is no cure, but the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is ever vigilantly raising money to help find one.

Please help me if you can, by donating to this noble cause. There's a link to the right of this page, you can click that and make a donation, or you can send a check or money order made out to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Remember, all donations are tax deductible and you will be doing your part to really help a lot of people.

I will keep this site updated with my training and any other Team in Training news.

I thank you for your support!
